Why do I believe in God?
I believe in God because you can't prove that He doens't exist. It is the same as you not believing in God because you can't prove that He exists.
These few days I have been thinking about why I decided to be a Christian. Am I really sure that God is real? I can tell you, NO! I do experience 'miracles', but they can be said as coincidence if you don't believe. I do 'feel' God, but it can be said as my own imagination if you don't believe. I do 'hear' from God, but it can also be said as my own illusion if you don't believe.
So why do I still believe in God?
Because my life has been changed since then. I experienced unconditional love. I started to love. I learnt to be open, learnt to care, learnt to be a better man. I enjoy my life more than ever before. So what have I lost if there is no God? I said IF. No, I haven't lost anything, but gained a lot.
Am I not deceiving myself then? since I believe without being really sure that God is real.
I think no one can have no doubt about God's existence. This is why it takes faith to be a Chrisitan. Because there is doubt, therfore you need faith.
What would I be if I only believe in God when I have proved that He exists? I would be living in an isolated life, without friends, without love. I would have missed a lot of joy in life. And if God is real, I will be in hell after I die.
